Spiritual Health Speaker ~ Estella Mae Roberson Henderson Jones
The third daughter and fourth child of Ida Green Roberson Childress and Norman Gene Roberson Sr. For 32 years I have been on the most thrilling journey which began when I surrendered my life to Christ! That journey includes meeting and marrying my “Shweetie,” James, who is truly a God-send. We have three sons (James Jr., Charlie III & Tommy), two daughters (Saturn & Estella Jr.), and seven grandchildren (with another expected March 2012) who keep us young. The journey also includes 22 years of service in public television, 3 1/2 years in private Christian school, and currently serving in the public school setting. God’s given me a heart for children which led me to pursue and obtain a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a teaching certification from the State of Texas. My favorite past times are listening to audio drama (which I do more regularly than anything else thanks to the Internet), reading for information and enjoyment, and spending time with family and friends.
I am a native Texan, born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and a Houston resident for the past 37 years. Texas is what I know, though I’ve been blessed to see the luminous Golden Gate Bridge of San Francisco Bay, the neon lights of Las Vegas, the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument of our nation’s capitol, traveled on the subways and in the taxi cabs of bustling New York, witnessed some of the most stunning golden wheat fields of Kansas, glacial mountains of Utah and Colorado, and spacious plains of Oklahoma, all of which left me in awe of the beauty and variety of God’s creation.
I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, niece, foster mother, friend, teacher…but mostly a sinner saved by grace and a servant of the Most High God.
